Stage1 :

1977 The history of Dentsu’s sports business began with Pele’s retirement match staged in Japan.
1979 Maradona made his debut in Japan at The FIFA World Youth Championship. Dentsu’s contribution to the success of the tournament strengthened ties with FIFA.

Stage2 :

1984 The Los Angeles Olympic Games marked a major turning point in the Olympic business. Dentsu laid the foundation of its involvement in Olympic marketing.

Stage3 :

2002 The “World Cup of Smiles” jointly hosted by Japan and Korea left a legacy for Japan.
2005 The launch of the “other” world football championship, the FIFA Club World Cup, the fruit of Dentsu’s commitment to the Toyota Cup.
2007 Established Dentsu Sports Europe(London).
2008 Established Match Hospitality(Zurich).
2009 Established Dentsu Sports America(New York). Established Beijing Dentsu Sports Division(Beijing).
2010 Established Dentsu Sports Asia(Singapore).
2011 Established Dentsu Latin America Sports Division(São Paulo).
